How important are dual meets? Southern Oregon head coach Mike Ritchey may be the only coach in the nation that will Mike Ritcheytell you that they are the most important aspect of college wrestling. Ritchey wants to lead the Raiders to an NAIA championship in March, but his ultimate goal is to win the NWCA National Duals in January.

Ritchey talked with Wrestling 411 about building a balanced team, winning the 2009 National Duals title, and the budding rivalry with NAIA powerhouse Lindenwood.

Mitchell Lofstedt’s ultimate goal is to be a famous musician, but for now he’d take winning an NAIA championship for Mitchell LofstedtSouthern Oregon University. Lofstedt enters his sophomore year as a returning runner-up at 125 pounds and the greatest family tradition in Raider history to go with it.

Mitchell’s dad, Brent, was a two-time NAIA champion for SOU and his brother, Trevor, recently graduated as a four-time All-American for the Raiders. Mitchell talked with Wrestling 411 about NAIA wrestling, the influence of his dad, the band he and his brother formed, and the British invasion of popular music.
