Jim Gibbons won a high school state championship in Ames, Iowa. He then won an NCAA Championship wrestling for the Cyclones. He followed by guiding Iowa State to its last NCAA team championship. Now, Gibbons is one of the top wrestling broadcasters in the business and follows the sport very closely.

Eric Voelker, a two-time NCAA champion for Iowa State in 1987 and 1989, was inducted into the Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame of Iowa today at the Dan Gable International Wrestling Institute and Museum in Waterloo, Iowa. Voelker joined five other inductees for theĀ  seventh annual inductions.

Wrestling 411 caught up with Voelker and discussed winning Iowa State’s last NCAA team title, never winning a state title in high school, and, of course, the departure of Cael Sanderson from Iowa State.
