He was a two-time NAIA champion in 1992 and 1993 who went went on to make an impact on the American freestyle wrestling scene. Kerry Boumans, best-known for his battles with two-time World champion Terry Brands at the 2000 Olympic Trials, is now coaching at Overtime School of Wrestling in Illinois — impacting youth and senior wrestlers throughout the nation.

Boumans was coaching Team Illinois at the Junior Nationals and Wrestling 411 spoke with Boumans about Overtime School of Wreslting, making the transition from the NAIA to international wrestling, and wrestling Terry Brands for a spot on the Olympic team.
