You can go home again: Bono announced as Iowa State assistant Ohio State’s Lou Rosselli talks about the Ohio RTC, Buckeyes
Jun 05

Joe Baranik has been several places as an assistant college wrestling coach. His goal was always to end up being a head coach. Three years ago, St. Andrews Presbyterian College announced it was starting a wrestling program and hired Baranik.

After starting his career in Pennsylvania, Baranik has nestled into the Division II landscape at the tiny Larinburg, N.C., school.

Baranik also has been a crusader in wrestling promotion and publication, contributing to the Pennsylvania Wrestling Newsmagazine since its inception. The PWN was voted Publication of the Year by the National Wrestling Media Association.

Find out what’s brewing down south.

Coach Joe Baranik is right, we need to make wrestling a spectator sport. The wrestling community needs to promote the sport like Coach Joe Baranik does and learn from him. The wrestling community needs to inform themselves about wrestling and use that information to share with non-wrestlers and non-wrestling fans and convert them to being wrestling fans. Coach Joe Baranik is the St. Paul of Wrestling because he’s spreading the word about the sport. The rest of us need to follow the example.
