Chris Bono spent over a decade at Iowa State University, first as a competitor and then as an assistant coach. When the coaching shakeups hit the college wrestling world several years ago, Bono found himself out of a position at Iowa State. He then headed south, closer to his native Florida, landing in Chattanooga, Tenn.

After a stint as an assistant, Bono took over the head coaching position at UTC. After three years leading the Mocs program, Bono and Yero Washington were announced on Thursday as assistant coaches, completing coach Kevin Jackson’s staff.
